AJ Scola

Following a nine-year career as an executive with the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians, AJ founded The Tatnuck Group in January 2020. During his tenure at the Braves, AJ directed a farm system that produced the youngest roster in Major League baseball while winning back-to-back NL East Division championships. In 2015 he pioneered the Braves leadership and cultural development program, the first of its kind in MLB, integrating American and Latino players, coaches and front office executives. Additionally, AJ was responsible for overseeing the pre-draft player character assessments and development plans for Braves personnel.

Prior to his front office career, AJ played two years of professional football in Europe after being a three sport athlete at Amherst College. AJ is an ICF Certified Performance Coach with a client list of professional athletes, coaches, and TV personalities. He holds certifications in administering and interpreting the Hogan Assessment, EQ-i 2.0, and EQ-360.

Ronnie Brown

A 10-year NFL veteran and Pro Bowler, Ronnie brings a wealth of experience both on and off the field to The Tatnuck Group. Selected number 2 overall by the Miami Dolphins out of Auburn University in the 2005 NFL Draft, Ronnie understands the unique leadership challenges and expectations that come with being a high-performer. While at Auburn he was a 2x All-SEC player and led the Tigers to a 13-0 season. His decorated career led to an induction into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.

A native of Cartersville, GA, Ronnie is a certified Financial Advisor and a member of the board of trustees at Pace Academy in Atlanta. Ronnie’s first-hand experience in the NFL, coupled with his dedication to bettering the lives of athletes on and off the field is unparalleled. With Tatnuck, Ronnie specializes in talent assessment and mentoring athletes, coaches and executives.

Ryan Maid, PsyD
Ryan brings a wealth of experience to Tatnuck from his career in performance, operational, and clinical psychology. A former college athlete and military veteran, his resume includes over a decade working with professional sports teams, elite military personnel, and other high performing individuals. Prior to joining Tatnuck, Ryan served as the Senior Director, Behavioral Psychology for the Kansas City Royals, Director, Performance Psychology for the Atlanta Braves, and as a Psychologist for Naval Special Warfare. With Tatnuck, Ryan has completed hundreds of assessments for both prospective players and personnel members across the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NASCAR. Additionally, Ryan serves as a performance coach for some of professional and collegiate sport’s top athletes and coaches.

Sierra Dimberg, Ph.D.

Sierra is a Counseling Psychologist specializing in working with professional athletes and elite military personnel. She has served as a behavioral science and assessment/selection consultant to multiple Major League Baseball organizations and mental skills coach to future NFL athletes at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Sierra is a meditation teacher for Meditation Studio, where she curates performance meditations for athletes, and has created mindfulness curriculum for pro sports franchises. She also serves as a performance coach to men’s and women’s professional, collegiate, and youth athletes and coaches to help maximize their talent.

Additionally, Sierra served as a United States Naval Psychologist working with combat fighter jet pilots and special warfare service members. During her time in the Navy, she also gained years of experience working with military selection and assessment programs. In addition to her performance coaching and personnel assessment background, Sierra has experience teaching organizations about diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Chris Pipes

A veteran of our nation’s military, Chris comes to Tatnuck after a 30-year career in both the private and government sectors.

Chris has extensive experience at JSOC, the Office of Special Warfare, the Secretary of Defense and the Interagency. During his tenure, he helped design and execute some of our government and military’s premier talent selection and assessment programs.

In addition to his work in the public sector, Chris is an expert in operational design for Fortune 100 companies and professional sports organizations. At Tanuck, Chris focuses on our leadership development programs and organizational design initiatives.

Canaan Severin

Following a storied career as a captain and All-ACC member of the University of Virginia football team, Canaan played 3-years in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. While at UVA, Canaan served on school president Teresa Sullivan’s Athletic Task Force, a focus group for assessing athletic personnel. Canaan was also the recipient of the ‘Joe Palumbo’ award given to the member of the UVA football team who embodies ‘self-sacrifice, dedication and enthusiasm for leadership’.

Upon completion of his playing career, Canaan transitioned to the talent assessment world, leading a team at Robert Half in assessing and placing CFOs, VPs of Finance, and HR Directors in some of the nation’s largest corporations. Canaan specializes in talent assessment and development of athletes for Tatnuck.

Steve Flaim, MBA

Steve brings a decorated career from Fortune 100 business to Tatnuck. A former VP at Coca-Cola, not only does Steve have decades of experience in sales and leadership, he has a distinguished track record as a professor in Leadership and Team-Building at Kennesaw State, DePaul and Northeastern Universities. Active in several secular and Christian non-profits, he is also the founder of First Water, a water purification company servicing first responder, military and philanthropic communities. Steve has an MBA in marketing from DePaul University. Leadership development and executive coaching are Steve’s areas of focus for the team at Tatnuck.

Josie Harris-Walton, JD, LLM

A senior attorney at Deming, Parker, Hoffman, Campbell & Dally, Josie brings an extensive background in law, business, and leadership. A US Army Reserve veteran, Josie is also a business-owner specializing in corporate consulting and tax litigation. A member of the Georgia Association of Black Women, Josie’s passion is assisting high-performance individuals better align and operate their business. At Tatnuck, Josie specializes in diversity, inclusion and organizational development

Sierra Dimberg, Ph.D.

PsyD. Assessment/Selection Psychologist

Our second psychologist comes to Tatnuck after a 20 year career at the United States Joint Special Operations Command with expertise in both clinical and assessment/selection psychology. In his time at JSOC, he helped select and develop some of our nation’s most sensitive and dynamic special operations teams.

In addition to his special operations work, he has years of experience consulting with the Department of Defense, and NFL and MLB organizations. He currently serves as an executive coach for C-Suite executives inside Fortune 100 companies. Due to the sensitive nature of the experience and work our psychologists perform, we keep their identity confidential to non-clients.

Jeffery is the founder of Fushian LLC, a strategy diversity consulting firm. A featured keynote speaker on Diversity Strategy, Jeffery is author of two books and a two-time TEDx speaker. His clients and best practices work include award winning companies such as IBM, Bristol Myers Squibb, Kimberly-Clark and dozens of other Fortune 100 companies.

Jeffery is the former Director of Diversity Strategy for The Coca-Cola Company and has trained thousands of senior and mid-level leaders on five continents. He is certified in DDI’s Targeted Selection and Maximizing Performance, PDI’s 360 Feedback and holds a Masters Certification in Achieve Global’s Leadership for Results. Jeffery brings over 20 years of human resources, diversity and inclusion strategy to Tatnuck.
